Slow Sunday

I'm linking up with Kathy sharing what I'm slowly working on and I mean slowly. I wish I could say I'm a fast quilter but that would be a fib. I love hand quilting, I love the calm process, I love the look and the softness of a hand quilted quilt. Have made a little progress and could do better if I would just spend more time at it  Finished this portion and now I'm working on this part Bob is helping of course.  I just think he wanted to photo bomb my pic. Here is another angle. Then while relocating the hoop I noticed this spot. Not sure when or how it happen. I don't even know what it is. I do not remember having a prick or cut while quilting. It could be a drop of coffee, that I have had.  Not sure how to handle it.  Should I try to remove now even thou I don't know long its been there or just wait. And what should I use. As you can tell this is the first time I have had this happen to a quilt I'm wo

1930's Farmers Wife Sampler

Last Tuesday was the 30's club at Sager Creek Quilt Shop and was the first meeting where we are starting   Laurie Aaron Hird's Farmers Wife 1930 Sampler and here is our fist 5 blocks We had twice as many attending, then we had before and it was wonderful.  The ones who's been attending this year were ready with their RSC15 blocks they made for the past months.  This quilt is one of our past 30's quilt. Eiko made it like just the pattern. Very beautiful isn't it.  Now I have finished mine and it is almost finished quilted but I changed it a little. Instead of the floral basket and went with a row of cottages. I going to add clouds and I'm thinking of clumps of grass beneath the the houses and in-between. Then it will be done. I just love the look of hand quilting...... especially on the back. linking up to  so scrappy

I took three sewing projects and some handwork. I was able to complete two of the machine projects and get a good start on the 3rd... did do a little  Handwork My biggest achievement was......  drum roll please....  I finish #4 Ruby Garden, mine.  I am now done with all of the Ruby Gardens I am going to make. I'm going to take a picture of the four of them and how I try to make each in the personality of the recipient later today Then I was able to get caught up on May, June and July block for the rainbow scrap. Now it's on to August which is indigo  I had hoped that I could finish my string quilt that I had started a number of years ago. But I have to ad

After coming back from a four day Ridge retreat, which was wonderful, my next post will be a collection of photos from there.  Up on my design wall.... I am finishing the first five blocks for the Farmer's Wife  1930's S ampler.  I wasn't able to get much sewing done today because of trying to get unpacked and organized plus there was a guild meeting that I  attend. It was in support of my friend Sharon first meeting as president. Then the presenter was Linda Humphrey, who brought a small part of her collection which is English paper piecing or mosaic pieces Linda comes from a long line of quilters.... in fact she's fifth-generation quilt-maker. Has worked for A ccuCut  and is now working for Mountain Mist. I would like to share with you some photos of her collection that she brought ... you might nee
