I feel very lucky in many ways. Three beautiful, sweet daughters, a wonderful man I'm proud to call my husband, and now two little adorable grandsons. We are all healthy and doing good. I'm living the life I imagined when I was young. So you see I feel very lucky but I have not been lucky at lotteries or drawings or giveaways until now. I had entered many giveaways in hope of this would be nice, so when I enter one at  One Good Thing by Jillee  it was like so many I have done. And because I usually get passed by I forget about checking back. Then last week I received that email we all love to get ,  YOU WON .   Oh boy but the best part was the prize There were 2600 entries and I was not expecting to win. I chose the camera, I have been wanting just this one too. Welcome to my blog, I hope you can take a moment to check out my blog. Here you will find that I like to share a lot of what happens on my farm here in NE Oklahoma. You get a little of life with cows and chickens, my struggles with growing an organic vegetable garden, canning, cooking and my love for quilting, knitting and most anything that has needlework involved. yes this MONDAY, Corrie from  Quilt Taffy  will be leading the Cheer with Dots...lots and lots of dots... I am excited about that too.... Because I will be part of the hop. I can't believe that I would forget my blogs anniversary, it was last Thursday May 31.  WOW  1   Year This has been a fun journey in my life and I have learned so much. You see, older "Kats" can learn new tricks. One of the main thing I learned is that there are so many friendly and nice people out there in  blog-land. Yes,   that means   you You all have given me so much by way of taking your time to visit my blog and leaving so many comments. I love hearing what you have to say and a lot of times it gives me encouragement to continue and finding new things to share. So I want to give something back to you all and it will be very simply.  I was thinking how I could express my Thanks and I realized that I have so many interests that I post about that some of you are interested in only one part of what I share. Chickens and books are two of my favorite things and when the two are together, boy I am full of giggles. Last month there was a Blog Hop and giveaway of this book, The Chicken Encyclopedia by Gail Damerow. Well I entered all the blogs I could trying to win this book and when the giveaway was over and I did not win I figured Ill just go and get my own.. But that's not the end, here I was ready to go and get one of my own when I received an email from  Daricia at A Charlotte Garden  to let me know that the first pick was unable to reach so I was second pick. Yippee I did win. Thank you Daricia, and do yourself a favor and check out her beautiful blog on gardens of the Charlotte area in N.C. I have so much to celebrate and be so thankful for. First of all is my middle daughter  (who's expecting twins) today is her birthday Second I just can't believe it but six months after starting this blog, I have 50 followers. WOW!! And third is that you all have visited over 10,000 times. It's amazing and I'm so humbled by this all. What started out as an outlet for my going ons, here on the farm and my addiction to quilting could be something anyone would be interested in, is just hard to believe. And to top it all off, is that this all happen in the same day Dec. 8th. So I want to celebrate and give something back to you, so I'm going to try a give-away.
